A “pile of shame” in gamer-speak refers to the games a gamer has bought or still needs to buy that are unfinished or unopened entirely. On my list, you may see games that have been out on store shelves for months. This is because I just haven’t had the time to finish them yet. I know it’s no excuse. I should finish them if I really love them so much. Hence, pile of shame.
So here’s my Pile of Shame for 2008 (in alphabetical order):
- Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS)
- Fable II (360)
- Fallout 3 (360)
- Farcry 2 (360)
- Gears of War 2 (360)
- Pixeljunk Eden (PS3)
- Left 4 Dead (360)
- LittleBIgPlanet (PS3)
- Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
- Mirror’s Edge (PS3)
- Motorstorm 2 (PS3)
- Prince of Persia (360)
- Spore (PC)
A hefty list with an undoubtably hefty price tag. I’m actually afraid to calculate it. So I won’t.
That’s my list! I’d love to see everyone else’s lists up here as well. Write yours down in the comments section if you can or want. Let’s compare, shall we?
UPDATE: Heather and I just finished solving the Gears of War 2 game tape!

Wow. There’s a lot there I want as well. Haha. Good list, Matt. Also, did you not read my response to your comment a post back?

Uh, you forgot Bioshock, Assassin’s Creed, Professor Layton and 007…FOR SHAME
November 18th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Yes, I read it. I’m down for monday posts on your blog hahah.
But I also want my own blog too. Hey sawicki, did you code yours by yourself?
November 18th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Heather, Bioshock and Assassin’s Creed came out last year. So, they’re under the category “back-log.”
Professor Layton is finished. We just have to beat all of the extra puzzles.
And about Bond, yes we have to get to it, but I don’t think it deserves a spot on the Pile of Shame. We’ll see though. I may be wrong.
Matt, perfect. Have a post ready by Monday. I’ll give you a login when I can. As for your other question, I didn’t code the majority of it. I don’t have the time. I set myself up with an already made blog. I did and still am making major changes to the design though. The CSS code will be all mine by the time I finish with it.
Basically, the back-end of the site is pre-made. The front-end on the other hand is mostly all mine. There’s a bunch of stuff I still want to change though. So yeah. I just wanted a blog template where I don’t have to worry about coding the comments section, worrying about making a good database, etc. I just didn’t want to start from scratch.

Very good! Monday will be a very great and funny day for the 4 visitors of this site! I can’t wait. Anyway, can I post images AFTER THE JUMP or whatever it is, where you have to click on the blog entry?
By the way, how much does your webspace cost per month? I’m gonna get matthewthedestroyer.com with my large amount of money that I have on me at all times (cuz I’m rich).

ahaha Matt, best comment ever

Actually, the visitor count is much higher than that. Trust me, I was surprised as well.
And I buy per year. I also own like 5 other domains. I’m paying in total, maybe $160/year.

And yeah, you can post images after the break. It’s completely up to you. It’s not like there’s a specific template to follow. You post however you wish.
